Break

So you all may have noticed, but I haven’t been doing much Happie Heads stuff these past two months. To be honest, it was because I was trying to figure out if it was even worth my time as I’m entering my first year of med school.

First off, I’m not quitting Happie Heads. I just needed a break. In fact, this time taught me that everything needs a break. Your liver needs rest at night, your computer needs to reboot, and even your parents’ dog wanders into the other room to get away from time to time. Point is, life operates in a rhythm. Nothing sustainable exists in a permanent “on” position.

Of course, the break is only half of the equation. The other half is getting back into the groove.  For me, this is the hardest part.  Just remember this, no matter how often you fall off the wagon, no matter how hard the fall is, no matter long you’ve been off the wagon, getting back is only one decision away.

So next time you slip on your diet, neglect a friend, skip a week (or two) at the gym, don’t drown yourself in guilt. Instead, tell yourself that its part of your rhythm, and understand that you will be better off because of the break.

Hopefully this post helps ya, or maybe this one was my break from being helpful.

Peace!

Michael
